It is true a lot have moved on to FB I know so I suppose twitter too although I'll admit I really don't know what twitter is all about.LOL I don't have a smart phone either and as far as FB I have an account but about all it is for is to keep in contact with a few friends and family members that I hadn't heard from in years. Sometimes wish I had never signed up on it!LOL

I like the 2-tone effect! Shorty vans have been done 1:1 and in models, cute fer sure, thanx! I used to work for a VW repair shop where we restored Bugs and Vans. I helped build 2 1:1 shorty vans in the late 80's.

Well, added some color this afternoon. Now I'll give the Testors rattle can paint a couple days to cure and then shoot some clear. In the mean time scrounge up some kind of headlights and other misc. items! Got some better chrome wheels to replace the old chipped ones with.

John, I saw the 1:1 at several events back in the 60's and only the first time did it have a windshield. The other two no glass and the post removed.

Built this kit 41 years ago while in the VA Hospital. Was hand painted. But after years of being bounced around in many moves it became almost trash. About 10 years ago almost tossed it but decided to shorten it. Started the work and found my putty dried up and lost interest. Took it out and set it together to post on another site where someone had shortened one. Then it went back into the closet until I ran into it today. It is on the bench until done this time. For some reason I have been feeling compelled to finish old kits that have been left undone for years!

Nicely done. Is this the elusive "third build" using the leftover frame rails? I like the scoop and decal work. Looks quite believable and period appropriate. Thanks! No, the extra frame and the double engine setup is in a bag for a future build! I tried not to get carried away with the decals and made sure of the age of the companies. Just tried to remember going to the Drag Strips in the early 60's with the neighbors sons and what I saw back then at the track!

I owned a 1:1 67 with a 390 4speed. Someone had even added the 6 barrel intake and carbs to her. Unfortunately it was rusted so bad that I ended up parting out what was salvageable.

Ron, I could not find quite the wheels I liked and while digging through a parts box found an old glue bomb 66 T-Bird that had those wheels used on it. They were in good shape so I detailed them and tried them on the little cruck and it seemed to be just right for it!
