Bought on clearance at Hobby Lobby and decided to do a quick build! Straight out of the box build other than the rear tires and tailpipe! Helped build several of these in 1:1 years ago.

I didn't have a radiator in my parts box that would fit. It would lay flat behind the bumper between the frame rails with ducting to move the air through it also I have seen setups similar in a few flats cars and there seems to be enough air coming into the under hood area to feed the not that high HP beast!LOL One local guy actually filled his block so there was no water in it. I always wondered how he kept it from burning up but I think running alcohol may have been the answer to that. Along with what kind of speed they were going for.(how long of run)

NICE! In my time building I only did the '53 once, and I chose silver too! Thanx for fotos of a great save! Thing is if you look at the hood, you see it is pearl white. I shot the hood in white primer forgetting I had used gray on the body which apparently turns pearl white silver!!!LOL I had started two of these kits in the past and never finished either one! Wound up trashing one and trading the other one. Saved this one from the trash man for parts and wound up making a car out of it!LOL

Very good looking Mustang, great to see one that's in original condition as most of these have been Hot Rodded many times. There's nothing wrong with that either, but still it's nice to see one that has preserved just like it rolled out from the factory lane. It looks good, and I bet it's quite trouble-free car as it's so close to factory stock. It is a true survivor! Only 81,000 actual miles! It is all original right down to all the smog equipment, except the wheels which I just added because the original size 13 inch tires are hard to find and expensive when you do find the right ones! Tiny bit of rust in the rear quarters behind the wheel wells and that isn't all the way through. Other wise just surface on the ridges where the paint has worn thin! Interior in great shape, no cracks in dash pad only slight wear in drivers seat and the plastic in the back faded but not degrading. Had 5 people asking already if for sale and two made surprising cash offers and I'm well off the beaten track in the back end of a mobile home park! But not even considering selling. I figure this is my last chance to own something like this before heading to that big garage in the sky!

Early Birthday gift from two of my son's! 1978 Mustang II. 81,000 actual miles! It had a engine fire and they guy just didn't want to deal with it. No paint damage. Just burnt hoses and some wiring. Didn't even hurt the carb!(just needed rebuilt which I did myself) Took about a month but got it running and brought it home from my sons house today! All original except wheels and tires. Still have the original lace wheels.(need restoring) V6 4speed two owner (two if you count the grand sone who never registered it) Car spent it's first ten years in Germany!!! Lady Colonel and then the guys grandfather who had it shipped to the states after he came home in 1988!(he bought it in 1986) I even have the shipping documents!!!

Spring wrap was terrible. The dealer here was adding leaves to the V8 cars before he would let them off the lot! Not sure if that was a GM decision or just his.(the dealer) Even with slapper bars the cars with single leaves would wheel hop so bad you couldn't launch off the line. If memory serves me though, GM didn't learn that lesson before the 67 Camaro because I know early ones were also mono leaf.

Great build of a sometimes difficult model to build and make look right! Guitar is the finishing touch!
