They were in the kit so I added them. I remembered a kids a couple blocks over got one with the L79 Option and the dealer had added the slapper bars and a few other goodies to the car before displaying it in the showroom! The kids dad gave it to him for Graduation!

Really good looking Nova. These are quite rarely seen built Stock so it's nice to see one for a change. Good work with paint and detailing. Those Slapper Bars are a nice touch.

Even with the so called "Slapper Bars" these cars were a dangerous joke . There is one leaf spring per side on these . So , one breaks on multi leaf a sag develops . One breaks on this cheap and dirty set up .. the Diff / Axle assm. is free of it's boundary's . Good idea when the car is in motion . With these installed at least reduced the whipping motion of one type of stress to cause the Spring failure . I saw a Brand New SS 327 fresh from the Dealership and straight to the Drag Strip do a Side Step - 7 Grand launch . The Car jumped straight in the Air from the Springs breaking and gouge up the Strip . The Competition Stopped . The Air Port was closed (it was a dual Purpose Drag / Landing Strip) . A Repair Crew earned some Premium Pay that night to fix the problem of the Nova Self Destructing . I don't make jokes about these and avoid Novas . Here sits a replica worthy of Kudos . Just right .. Thanx ..

Spring wrap was terrible. The dealer here was adding leaves to the V8 cars before he would let them off the lot! Not sure if that was a GM decision or just his.(the dealer) Even with slapper bars the cars with single leaves would wheel hop so bad you couldn't launch off the line. If memory serves me though, GM didn't learn that lesson before the 67 Camaro because I know early ones were also mono leaf.
