Very tasteful and restrained and, as a result very convincing! Nice one!

NICE! In my time building I only did the '53 once, and I chose silver too! Thanx for fotos of a great save! Thing is if you look at the hood, you see it is pearl white. I shot the hood in white primer forgetting I had used gray on the body which apparently turns pearl white silver!!!LOL I had started two of these kits in the past and never finished either one! Wound up trashing one and trading the other one. Saved this one from the trash man for parts and wound up making a car out of it!LOL

Pearlescent colors aren't as transparent as candy colors, but still the base coat affects topcoats. The popularity of trying nail polish is also an interesting way to add to color variation. You tube and these fine e-clubs bring new inspirations, thanx!

Very cool! You don't see many Salt Flats cars built so I'm happy to see one that's done this well. Excellent work all over. That heavily chopped body fits very well as a Salt Flats racer and with an Early Hemi I'm sure it would run good numbers there. Congrats on a fine looking build.

Great rescue and build . Question : How does the Engine Breathe and keep cool ? After a try at a RUN this problem would cease to be as a remedy would be made ..lol .. Quite respectable and just right .. Thanx ..

I didn't have a radiator in my parts box that would fit. It would lay flat behind the bumper between the frame rails with ducting to move the air through it also I have seen setups similar in a few flats cars and there seems to be enough air coming into the under hood area to feed the not that high HP beast!LOL One local guy actually filled his block so there was no water in it. I always wondered how he kept it from burning up but I think running alcohol may have been the answer to that. Along with what kind of speed they were going for.(how long of run)

There was a method tried using a solution ?? filling the Block with ?? It eliminated the weight of the radiator and coolant (H2o @14.7 # per Gallon at Sea Level) . It was a massive failure . Alcohol burns Hotter than Gasoline BTW . Ethanol burns the Hottest . Hot enough the Flames are unseen in Daylight . What you are describing is referred to as a Bottom Breather . The Cooling Air is inducted below the Bumper . The "Sealed system" as used on Dragsters is the Look you've depicted here .. I'm not nitpicking your Build . I'm trying to add details for accuracy . That 1st Gen Hemi with Injection Pumps out quite a bunch of Ponies in the 1:1 world .. Thanx ..
