The engine is now in place, as well as the steering box and lines, master cylinder, battery and cables, and the heater hoses.
The radiator and bulkhead have also been installed.
I should be ready to begin assembly of the interior parts.

The interior is coming together.
The rear seat, door panels and dash are mounted.
I also added the pedals and carpet protector.

The interior is finished!!
I will just add the door lock buttons before the chassis makes it's final trip into the body.

I just noticed the holes drilled for the locks. I'll bet you wired them to work once the "lock" switch is touched. Amazing! You should have gone to Hollywood to build miniatures.

Thanks guys!
I think that I've finished up all of the scratch made parts on this project.
The tail pipes were made from plastic rod drilled out and bent to shape.
The dome light bezel is a thin slice of plastic tubing sanded to shape, and the lens is just a piece of clear sprue.
The sun visors are pieces of sheet styrene cut and sanded to shape with a piece of stretched sprue glued to the outer edge for the seam/piping.

Still progressing ahead.
The sun visors, dome light and tail pipes have all been painted and are ready for installation.
Next, a solution was needed for head light buckets for the drilled out head lights.
A piece of sheet styrene cut to the shape of the head light bezel with slices of plastic tubing for the outer wall and a piece of thin rod to represent the bulb should suffice.
This was also painted with Alclad chrome.
All of the glass has been cut from clear film and a tint band was added to the windshield.
Ready for polishing and installation.
I also decided that rather than try to finish the tail light ribs with foil, I would foil the entire lens, paint with Testors metallic red and then clean the paint from the ribs with thinner.
Seemed like the easiest way to accomplish the look desired.

Thanks "mustang1989"!
I'm slowly continuing with the assembly process.
The head light tubs have been added to the bezels and while I was at it, I had to correct something that I felt needed addressing.
On the 1:1 car, there are thin pieces of chrome trim around the inside of the head light and tail light openings that are absent on the kit, so I dragged the foil back out, honed my #11 blade, and mustered as much hand eye coordination as I could and added those features.
They weren't easy to free hand, but I think they will help with the finished appearance.
Next I installed the dome light and sun visors.
The body is ready for the glass.
I also added the head light lenses and finished up the detailing on the front bumper and grille halves.
Onward!

Well fellas, I'm getting very close to the finish line on this project, and I have to say that I'm quite pleased with the results to this point and very excited about getting it in the finished category.
Unfortunately, it will probably be a few days yet before it's ready to display in all of it's glory.
I had to order some door locks and it will be a few days before I receive them.
In the mean time, I'll tease you with a few pics to this point.
See you soon!

To say that this is a very convincing build would be the very least that I could express. This thing looks like a real friggin' car.

Thank you very much.
All of the comments that this project have received by all of you, my fellow modelers, were a great inspiration and meant the world to me.
I thank you all.
The next time that you see this model, it will be finished.
Stay tuned.
