By all means, keep up the extraordinary detailing! Fram oil filters are the most distinctive ones out there, so they always look good when used.
Thank you Deuce!
I believe that I have the air cleaner assemblies finished.
Some gray embossing powder was used for the air cleaner elements, and Alclad chrome for the lids.

This afternoon, I put a "grunge" wash on the engine parts, and began construction of the intake set up.
Strangely, I'm excited about beginning the plumbing and linkage on this intake!

The intake is finished, except for maybe a couple more dabs of grime and the addition of the air cleaners.
On to the rest of the engine.

The pale yellow coating on the return spring is the first thing I noticed .

Thanks so much guys!
I appreciate that!
Along with some detail painting of the firewall and a few other engine parts, today I added a radiator filler neck and overflow tube to the radiator, as well as scratch built a radiator cap.
Also started gluing up the engine.

The tri-power 421 is now in the record books.
This started with the AMT '62 Catalina engine as a base, with the addition of the intake, belts and pulleys, and alternator taken from the Revell '66 GTO kit.
The transmission was modified from a Johan 1962 Olds, and the air cleaner lids were shaved from the GTO articles.
Scratch built parts include the air cleaner bases, oil filler cap, power steering pump and bracket, and the transmission and engine dip stick tubes.
The air cleaner assemblies turned out even better than I was hoping for!

I'd swear that if you hooked that engine up with some petrol and a battery, the bloody thing would start!... Brilliant work!... "Jezza"

outstanding Super Duty mill! Very realistic detailing. I can smell the heady aroma of fuel, exhaust and a little blow by from here.

Thanks guys!
I appreciate all of the kind comments.
I've been getting quite a bit done on this project over the past week, but it's mostly chassis stuff and not all that exciting.
I did finish the radiator with it's scratch made cap which some might find interesting.
I also added some springs to the hood hinges.

The final assembly process has finally begun.
Even though a considerable amount of engineering went into this project from the onset, there are still always issues that require tweaking and refitting as expected.
But, that aside, the chassis is now nearly complete.
The interior carpet has also been installed and next steps will be installing the engine and adding the remainder of the engine bay details, followed by the reassembly of the interior.
Onward!
