Thanks so much guys!!
It is getting closer, but every time I think I'm gaining ground, I come up with another hair brained idea.
Lately, I've been contemplating attempting some working, or at least "semi" working hood hinges!
Call me crazy!
I understand that. Sometimes I feel like it's the build that dictates where I go when it should be the other way around. lol
Steve
Perfect analogy!

Hi guys.
I thought that I would share with you the task at hand that I have been going over with a member via personal message.
I decided to at least attempt this hood hinge question.
I started by mocking up a hinge just to get down the general shape and operation.
Then I went to work refining the design.
I'm happy with the basic design, but it might require a little more tweaking..........not sure yet.

Well guys, after much reflection and a lot of "attempt and fail", it has become obvious that the working hinges are not going to be a viable option on this particular build.
I have no question that the hinges will work and look good on other models, and I will attempt it again in the near future, but it has become obvious that in order for them to work correctly on this body style, some "wells" should have been added to the cowl area for the rear arm of the hinge to fold down into, and at this point in the game, I'm not going to take any risks with messing up the body.
There is just not enough clearance for a folding hinge on this type of hood/cowl configuration without prior modifications, but I will absolutely be revisiting this idea on a future "external cowl" type of body
I guess that I must concede that it is time to admit defeat and move on.

Sorry it didn't work out with the hinges as those are beautiful. It's not a total loss as you can definitely use the experience for future builds.

Yeah that's really too bad , you were on the right track and I'm sure they will work when you try again .

Interior door panels are finished.
I will add the door lock buttons once the interior has been fully assembled.

A little more progress today.
I got the rear wheel wells "back in black" the way they should be. (a little salute to AC/DC there)
I also finished detailing the console (after 2 unsuccessful attempts)!
And the carpet is down.

The carpet protector was made from acrylic craft paint.

Dude …..this is SICK!!! It's all in the details with this one. Top notch stuff. I completely hear you on the multiple attempts stuff. Really frustrating when something doesn't turn out the way we want it the first time. Looks like you whupped her into shape though.
