Working on the '57 this weekend. I was doing the final scuffing getting ready for paint and realized I need to shave the door handles...out came the block and paper. Now a few more rounds of sanding and priming! While I was at it I decided to remove the upper chrome strip and gold insert area. Still more smoothing to do but I think it looks better.

Very nice work on the '55 Ron. Now when you added that Custom front end to it, I like it even more! It's still easy to recognize as a Tri-Five Chevy, but it's still pretty radical. The '57 Ford looks good too... Keep them coming! Finally my Thunderbolt is also back on the bench! There is a Model Car Contest in a few weeks so now I need to finish this one. Shouldn't be that hard, but let's see. The first thing was to paint the area between those side moldings white. The kit had decals for it, but they just didn't fit on place at all. So my only choice was to paint it by brush. After a bit of thinking my only choice was to use a regular brush paint called Miranol from a local hardware store as it was the only white that would cover good enough. Of course the paint needed a bit of thinning before it could be used. Once I get BMF applied, I think it should look pretty good. So the next job was to polish the body. This will take some time, but I started from the easy part which is the roof. It turned out pretty good, now I just hope that I don't polish through the clear coat while polishing the rest of the body...

It's no wonder this world is messed up.... Mr 409 is building Fords.... 😋
Looking great Niko, and I am right there with ya on the BMF. Good thing the results look fantastic, otherwise I wonder if we would put ourselves through all that nerve wracking.... 😬
Good luck with it 😊

Yep I build Fords too, and sometimes even Mopars! Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully I can get the BMF work done during the weekend so then I could move on to final assembly next week. I have a bit less than two weeks for the Model Car Contest where I want to participate, so it shouldn't be a problem if everything goes well.

Well I couldn't get the BMF work done during the weekend as the alternator from my daily driver Chevy S10 decided to stop working and I had to take it apart and repair it. But, I got started with BMF at least. That should be done in a couple of days. Anyway I got the hood painted finally so that it matches the body color. Tomorrow I'll shoot a coat of clear on it.
