Welcome to the extended DPMCC 2018 CBP !
The theme is Finish it!
We decided to extend this CBP so take an abandoned project out of the shadows and finish it up!
I know you all have at least one and we have until the end of the year so let's get started!

I was just thinking about this! A semi-replica of a friends 1:1 Willys pickup. That's why all the contingency decals...the real thing has more and I may add more still. Its been a good five or six years since i started this. I told my friend it was gonna be a long project, and I was right. Really a shame this has been sitting, though honestly I do pull it out every six months or so and do some major work, then it goes back onto its perch awaiting my next attempt at finishing it. Right now I have to deal with what I will plead as temporary amnesia, where I somehow wired the small block chevy wrong, with the spark plugs spaced evenly along the head. So, of course, proper SBC exhaust system will not fit so I need to cut and/or break all the wires and plug connectors off and reposition them properly. Of course, originally I had the block drilled and all but now where they must fit I will not be able to drill, because the engine is firmly fastened into the chassis and I cannot try to drill into the block with the whole thing assembled...I am sure it will crumble in my hands. So I will have to trust the Gods of epoxy on this one...the good part will be the exhaust pipes will more or less cover where the holes are drilled and it will not be too hard to clean up the areas I will need to mess up. So I hope I can get to that, and then the final hurdle will be final assembly which is easy to say but I know is going to be anything but... This year for sure. jb

I can definitely see why a build like this might be a bit daunting. Sure is some fine work.

Ok so besides the 55 I decided to put this my 57 Ford vert back on the bench. It's been sitting in the box like this for at least 2 years. It's going to be a mild custom.

JB, I like how that Willys looks! Great color and all of those contingency decals look right home in there.
Ron's '57 looks great too! I like how the gloss black steelies contrast with those wide whites. I can't wait to see more pics of this.

Hit it with some primer. I added a 57 T-Bird scoop to the hood and a tonneau cover from the parts box to cover the back seat. I think these slick out the look of a convertible.

Nice touch. Are you going to run the T-Bird engine also?

Nice touch. Are you going to run the T-Bird engine also? Yes, it will be the kit Y Block with T-Bird valve covers. It will have 3 deuces on it.

Did some body work on the 55 Bubbletop today. A lot of sanding! Hit it with some primer, still more to do. A quick mock up.

You're right about that tonneau cover, it looks very good even though I'm not usually that crazy about Convertibles. It looks like this will be another Masterpiece when it's done so I can't wait to see that happen. The '55 looks good too. I like how those new rear wheel openings look.

The rear contours follow the lines perfectly.

Had a little bench time last night and now that I have the rear roughed in it's time to start working on the front. First to go were those goofy turn signals and the the splash pans. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do here. I have plenty of raw material to work with!
