Ardun heads to hop up a flathead so I guess you can hop down an OHV V8 with flatheads. Sure looks cool Spike.
Good looking 29 Tom.

My '30 Ford and '58 Chevy have come to a grinding halt. A few weeks ago I ordered some Mod-Podge glue to use for attaching clear parts (fed up with super-glue fog), but unfortunately it got delayed in the Christmas post. Once I've got the glass in, I'll finish them both off and post some better pictures. That will be the last of my in-progress kits so I will have to get back on Ebay to find some projects for 2023. Happy new year gents.

Did I mention that I'd bought a Rolls Royce? It's a 1962 Sliver Cloud by Minicraft, but probably based on an old Revell kit. I've been thinking about what do do with it and remembered a Chrysler Atlantic concept car kit, I'd built a couple of years ago - average kit but great wheels. So, I'm thinking, open up the wheel arches a bit and drop it down a lot... Wodja think?

The Roller now has stance. I've filed out the wheel arches to accept the bigger wheels which has allowed the body to sit much lower. There's not much detail in the all-in-one floor pan on this kit so it will definitely be a curbside. Also, I've removed the uprights on the quarter light glass frames which seems to visually help lower the car. It will be low, but not silly low...

Another project for 2023. I found this AMT '32 Vicky glue-bomb on Ebay and plan to build it up as a drag car. Most of the parts are in a poor condition but luckily the body is OK, apart from the fire-wall that looked like it was glued in with concrete. The Hemi is from Revell's '68 Dodge Dart (another project for this year) and the injection set-up is from my bits-box. I quite like the slot-mags, they give it a late '70s, British Hot Rod vibe.

Looking forward to the Vicky Spike. Good luck with the Rolls. I bought that kit and it was a complete load of cr*p. By the time I got all the misalign mold areas done all the sharpness was gone. I hacked it in half and turned it into a two door hardtop. Someday when I get my hobby space finished (hopefully in a couple of months) I might take another whack at it. So many other builds I'm interested in that it will probably stay in the box.

Great work on the chassis Spike. Is the wheelbase longer? It looks longer than the stock chassis. Looks like you moved the engine back from your first mockup.

We had some warm, dry weather over the weekend so I managed to paint a couple of bodies. Really pleased with my '32 Vicky, nice and shiny, straight out of the can. I now need to build an interior and fit the grille/radiator, exhaust and moon tank. I'm not sure what class this thing would race in - Gasser, Sportsman, Fuel Altered? With that injected Hemi I guess it would be the scary class. Best I fit a parachute...

Hey Spike, Lookin Good.
I believe Gassers required full fenders, Altereds aren't allowed closed in roof, and with the era tires, yes I would say in one of the Sportsman Classes. And if your car runs 150 mph in the 1/4 mile or 125 in the 1/8 mile you are required a chute.
But since your model probably won't reach those speeds (LOL) a chute would still look good.

Work in progress time. I've now got 5 bodies in paint ready to build over the winter - '32 Ford Roadster, Rusty old Dodge Dart, '54 Chevy Panel Van Gasser, Tom Daniel's Vandal and the Silver Cloud. Not sure about the Roller though, I was a bit ambitious when I did my final "wet coat" and there's a run on the off-side.
