That '53 Ford box top on the home page has outstanding artwork.

It is kind of nostalgic...I wonder if the chick has a "Coca Cola" tramp stamp? And I am not so sure oil changes were fifteen cents back then but I suppose maybe out in the middle of the desert they might have been.

I'm guessing the 15 cents refers to a gallon of "regular" gasoline, which at the time would have been a bargain.

Except that it says "Regular...Oil Change".
But I guess the "Regular 15(cent sign)" could refer to a gallon of gas.
Still the model could do with fewer clothes...it is the desert after all.

Really like that you're posting some vintage box art in the main header , I built that IMC Ford GT as a kid and had a terrible time with it ! But last year I picked up another one unbuilt plus I found a IMC J car kit unbuilt . Always liked the J Car even tho' it wasn't a successful racer , it'll be on my bench one of these days .

Thanks Bob. I always liked the J too. I have a glue bomb MPC kit that I might try to restore but I would really like another shot at an IMC one, to redeem myself from the disaster I did to one back in the day! LOL

Heres one from a long long time ago. Headers went together with a minimum of problems as I recall: wasn't perfect but wasn't too bad either. I partially took it apart ten or so years ago and cleaned it up a little bit, along with the Chaparral that I built along with it. That one turned out pretty nice too. These are kits companies should work to reissue, not another Camaro or Mustang. jb

Good looking build there JB. Any of you ever built on of these? I'm staring at one on my bench trying to decide just how to approach a build of it. I think the kit represents an early version, possibly the prototype so I could do something like this or maybe an early street version...

I'm going to try and replicate that street version, but the headlights look more Porsche 904 than the IMC version. Maybe I'll just go with the metallic gray and forget the headlights and save myself a month or two!

One thing I think I remember about that Revell Ford GT, although I am in no way and expert and only ever really had marginal interest in these cars, but I believe I recall the body had a bit of a "squashed" look to it, like maybe it was sectioned an inch or three. I do have that kit around somewhere but where I am not sure so I cannot pull it out right now to check. Probably build up nice though...was this also an Aurora kit? Or was that a different beast?
