Really nice! These '70s style cars are always nice to see in both, real life and models. While it's not personally my favorite style, I enjoy seeing them and I've even built a couple myself too. This one has turned out excellent. Good looking paint job and stance. Plus that different wheels on front and rear is a great detail. At least here in Finland back in the day these cars had different wheels on front and rear, because of that simple reason that you had to use what you happened to find. Nice work! Here it was called "what ever was cheapest" when it came to wheels. You were always trading with other gearheads and searching the bone yards for add on parts and back then you could find them there! My first set of N50 Mickey's (and 15X10 Chrome Slots) came off a wrecked car at a local junkyard! On the front had a set of 15X5 chromed stock GM wheels that came out of a neighbors basement!(pitted chrome and all LOL) and a set of blemished bias ply 700 15tires from Sears!(12.50 each!) All the big money went under the hood and the drive train! The fastest cars on the streets weren't the prettiest cars!LOL

Very nice El Camino! '66 is one of the best looking years when talking about Chevelles/Malibus/El Caminos, and you did this one a justice. Never seen one painted in that color before, but it looks very good and your wheel and tire choice is just perfect especially with unpolished spokes on those Torque Thrusts. Nice work. Back in that period most of us had yet to see a polished wheel!LOL the TT's had usually gray ir black spokes and some of us got creative and used gold, blue (candy) or other colors that would accent the car's color. In reality the outed area should have been dulled down or even done in magnesium.

That looks very nice! The kit is indeed not the best one, but it can be turned into a good looking model as seen here. Nice clean work overall, there's nothing to complain about. Windshield washer fluid in its bottle is a great detail! Won't take credit for the washer bottle! That was the Wife's idea!LOL

Just seem driven to build right now. I wonder if it is me subconsciously thinking about my upcoming hip surgery? :idunno: I started this one on Friday and it is moving along nicely!

True fact on the use of truck tires. Could be the angle of the foto and flat (not bulging much) sidewall that gives it a fat look. Seeing old fotos and vids from early Daytona beach racing, no tires then helped enough! Those were wild days. That's the truth! No tire was going to give them real traction they were just looking for one that would handle the beating they were giving them!
