Bad paint for certain! If it looked okay going on (whether in an aerosol can or air brushed)it somehow reacted in drying. Totally weird! That's what makes building these things a challenge. I luv the complex rollcage and the spare tire in the rear of the rally car. For a small scale model, it looks really good so far.

Feel bad for you about the paint mishap. I followed Harron's link to the build there. What an incredible model this makes. Good luck with the rest of the build.

Super work! Gas tank looks much better than at the start. Engine has a sandblasted look, which simulates a real life casting of the block. Real Progress, thanx!

Hey Ken, I had to Google how much 80 quids are in US dollars,(Dumb Yank ya know) HOLY CRAP! (it said $132) is that right? Sorry about your paint woes (Oh no, it's the Batmobile all over again) Just kidding you Mate. (by the way I have a tip for you, what to do with your Batmobile, I'll put it on that thread) I like that green on the frame. What color and brand of paint is that?
Keep pluggin away at it, looking good so far.
Your Friend Jim

Massive engine, you bet! Good luck on this very rare model. Incidentally, tho this is an expensive model, I've seen on line a number of models (racing cars mostly)from home "companies" in 1/25th scale for $100 or more. They had resin cast and photo-etched parts and quality varies a good deal. The top of the line large scale kits have come from "Pocher," and are the priciest. In military modeling where there are more builders and more expectations, quite expensive small volume models are more numerous.

Hi there yep 132 sounds about right (mind you it's a lot of car for that money)I think it is the only 1/12 Bentley model available. The green is Humbrol Brunswick green it's the closest I can get to British racing green. Thanks I will check the batmobile topic. The poacher kits are in another league to this. I would need to take another mortgage out to get one of those and the missus would literally kill me if she found out I spent that much on a model.

looking top notch. I like your subtle weathering on the engine. It looks used yet not over done. Good work.

Hi all well here are the driver and admirers that will be going with this model. They are from the Airfix London icon set, so I think very fitting.
