Thanks much guys ! After a few more days of no progress I started to prep the body for paint this morning . First thing I did was remove the door handles and wipers . I'll use the handles and exterior mirror from the T-Bolt kit , and wipers that I think are from a Revell Chevelle Wagon . . . not sure . I'll make a radio antenna . For paint I'm not doing black or maroon , I'm going with "Glacier Blue" . I bought a can of paint from this company to do a small repair on my son's Jeep and was very impressed so thought I'd try it on a model . It sprays very light and well atomized , better than any spray can I've ever used . The spoon on the left is two light coats right out of the can , on the left is with one light coat of TS-13 Clear . I'm not sure I want a high gloss showroom paint job on this one .

I was planning on trying my hand at foiling the emblems , I've seen others do it and I think I can do it too . But I did some digging thru some old PE sets I have and actually found a "Fairlane 500" script on the '60 Starliner set , not exact but nobody will ever notice . Also found the correct "289" fender badge and the "F-O-R-D" hood letters on a "65 Mustang set . That only leaves the "Sport Coupe" script on the trunk , I'll try foiling that one and if it gets screwed up not a big deal . Soooo on to some sanding and some primer .

Body in White Primer . Two coats of Glacier Blue . Something new I tried was masking the side trim with BMF . . . worked great ! After all of my worrying about foiling the emblems it was much easier than I expected ! Think I still need to clean it a bit more but I'm happy with the results . Next time I'll do all of the emblems and pass on the PE . Tomorrow I'll spray some clear and then foil all of the trim .

That paint came out sweet!! Not only did that paint come out sweet as Mike said but I learned something new today with BMF'ing the emblems. What a very nice turn out on those. Really liking how this one's coming together. REALLY likin' it.

Thanks much Guys ! This morning I masked the body and sprayed the core support black , also detailed the emblems on the C pillars . When all was dry I sprayed some clear , again not super shiny but it really brings out the color . It will take a few days to finish the BMF then I can always spray some more clear , still undecided .

I got out the BMF and started with the trim on the driver's side . It went pretty good , about 40 minutes including painting the red-white-blue on the emblem . Feeling good I started on the passenger side . . . what a disaster ! I couldn't get the BMF lined up on the edge of the trim to start it , then I couldn't lay it down along the edge without wandering off . After many tries and replacing several sections a half dozen times it was finished . It only took two and a half hours !! That's enough for today .

Foiling BMF can be as frustrating as talking to a teenager, but done with patience the results can be amazing, and something to be proud of.
