Well, I soaked and scrubbed for ten days. This is how it looks, now: A lot less paint paint than I started with, but still some on it: The silver left long before the gold did! The Super Clean turned out to do the best job, of the four products I tried.

Here's one of those "Why Didn't I Think Of That" tips:" A member of OSM forum suggested using TESTORS thinner on a q-tip to remove the stubborn paint. In the above pic, I've used it on the deck lid and passenger side side of the roof. It seems to be working. Thanks, Jeff!

Good idea there. I never would have thought of that. Make sure to completely remove any thinner residue before any paint!

Got any suggestions, other than soap-and-water? The following pic shows the whole thing devoid of paint: I'll use the familiar backside of a #11 blade to clean out the panel lines, and then I'll be ready to attach the yellow fastback roof.

Got any suggestions, other than soap-and-water? I would soak it in super clean for a few hours then follow up with a scrubbing of warm water and Ivory dish soap. Ivory was recommended by a professional painter that once posted here because it has no additives in it that will cause fish eyes.

How it looks without the paint: My next step is to cut the quarter vents out of the roof, to be replaced with windows, before I attach the roof to the body. Outstanding! That fast back roof is a natural for it.

I got started on the quarter windows. I marked the vents to be cut out: I dropped my Dremel tool on it(haha): Got a few good strokes in with a file: Tried it on to see how it looks: I like it better than the vents. Can we say, "early opera windows?"

Thanks, John! The sawhorses were a result of me sitting at the bench, staring at stuff, and wondering what to do next. I had so many builds on the go that I decided to build the horses!!

I had so many builds on the go that I decided to build the horses!! π I know the feeling.... π²π€π¦π€π€π€π Don't know if I will ever get around to it, but I started saving the landing gear assemblies of the few 1/48 scale planes I build occasionally, for the purpose of making some carts for setting a car body on..... for use in the garage/body shop diorama.... that I don't know if I will ever get around to....... Hmmm, that sounds familiar π Looked some up online, and looks like there are a lot of homemade ones, so at least I got that in my favor.... if I ever get around to itπ Enjoying your conversion here ππ John
