I believe they did that because there was a mixup with the years of the two pickups, so they couldnt tell which one they were actually voting for... Lol, if i dont recall back when this forum very first came up they use to do MOM like this, dont remember when it changed though...the winners car looks amazing, thats the one i voted for myself, but isnt it a lil selfish to get upset that the runner ups are on there too? Is it your first time winning or something? Or is it that you dont want the others to basque in the glory of second and third? If you actually look at the pic, yours is the biggest there, the other two are just "runner ups" if i wouldve won first i at least wouldve givin a "good job" before getting angry that it isnt the only one on the picture...just sayin

Congrats on your win & I do not think your being selfish at all, the winner is supposed to have the top of the page all to him/herself. However, I believe that the builders of those 2 trucks should be pissed, I don't know about anyone else but I didn't vote at all because I didn't know who I would have been voting for & no telling how many votes you guys lost this way. To you wagonguy1989 why would you laugh out loud at a screwed up poll?  And how do you remember what the poll used to be like when you've only been here since Feb. of 2013 and I'm not trying to flame you...just saying!!! The main crux of the problems seem to come down to how the M_O_M contest is run every month. 1) you can be sure that the entry page will be posted late 2) entry page will close late 3) voting will start late 4) voting will end late 5) winner will be posted up late with a pic of any old haphazard dimentions from 2"X3" to nearly covering the top of the page. 6)and finally we now can't even get the order right to know who we are voting for. Through all of this we at least get an, "I'm sorry but work gets in the way." SignMike, when Rodburner was looking for someone to take over duties of M O M you must have sent him an e-mail saying, "pick me, pick me" cause he didn't pull names out of a hat and say OK you, you have to take over. So that said, if this is something you want to do then do it right or get ahold of Bob and tell him you don't have the time for it. (No I don't want it because I'm a procrastinator. Just to answer the unasked question.) If this gets me banned here then so be it but something needs to be said and done. |

The winner having the top of the page to himself is a bit selfish though. I mean, owners of the forum don't really have to offer that. It is that way in most forums and its great to see your build up there if you won or see an example a model that might of kicked your models butt. It's great motivation in my opinion. I do, however, agree that some of the handling of this forum has gone in a downward spiral. Whether it be the way contests are being handled, forums being watched or any other encouragement to members. This last contest is a perfect example and not to mention this thread right here. Yeah there was an apology from Mike but no answer to this thread. I remember logging into this place and ALWAYS seeing new posts and threads every day. Lately it's been three to five posts a week. It obviously causes folks to abandon this place little by little to search for other places to share the passion for the hobby. I fully understand personal lives getting in the way but like bud said, if you can't handle it, find someone that can. I myself have gone out searching and found a few that are doing great. More than one contest at a time, honest critique from fellow members. I still come here to check out you guys' builds....but maybe we should all be somewhere else. Here are three other forums that are working out great for those of you that are interested. Some of you might already be members in these if not stop on by and join. I understand where baddgass is coming from, but theres no reason to be mad saying the pic sucks because yours isn't the only one on there, im not upset that they got it mixed up because it comes down to one thing... ITS JUST A M.O.M FOR A FORUM BOARD... not like were winning GSL by getting our picture on top of a website...  |

Wow All that for .... I know modeling is going to bring emotions but to this point. I know I was late many time and I think for making little mistakes like this I should be excused. Now Badgass, I did what my heart told me to do. If your answer to this is what your heart tells you to do then I don't see what I'm doing here.
I will reconsider my involvement in doing this contest for you. Today was the start of the contest august 2013. After reading this you can count on this month contest being late. I will not spend my time and get childish reactions like this.
It's easier to tell everyone on a forum that it is wrong or late than contacting me through forum messages to tell me you're unhappy. Well there is nothing more I can do and I apologize to all for causing so much hassle.
I am contacting Rodburner right now to let him know and will decide after I talk to him
Oh yeah anybody knows how much time it takes fiddling from the forum to Fotki to Photoshop, back to Fotki then Forum. And what I get un return....this???
I was sad reading this and sad is not what I want in my life, Been doing that for a years now...and this is what I get?

I think you are absolutely right. I am leaving my duties as administrator on this forum and thanks for your honesty. I would have appreciate some personel feedback from you before you go public and make damage to this forum.
I never beg to do this, just wanted to help fellow modelers and make friends...there is no money out of this. It was my mistake to decide to get involved in this duty. You made me realise it now. As for friend, well I"ll look smewhere else...very sad it is.
Oh yeah easy to say the contest was runlate every month...should we take that as the truth?...you see even you makes mistakes.
Anyway thanks for making me realise...hope you made me better in the future
