Just one question, why this hatred toward me, did I do something bad to you?
I did all that work thinking you were a modeler friend. Actually I was working for you so you could get a nice photo on the main page. Is this what I'm guilty of?

Like a real man?....hmmm funny way to define a real man. Anyways. Not the point. Take a look at the date this started. This thread/complaint went on for almost 10 days without it being answered. I don't think this is a personal attack towards you. Sure tempers flared and outcries were made. But this could have been avoided by responding to these complaints in a timely manner. Yes you made mistakes and we all make them. I think this went public or got big because of some of those mistakes not being fixed or answered to. I get the fact that things will be late once in a while...but once in a while is turning into more often than not.
Managing contest and posting pics from Fotki and Photobucket is not the easiest and fastest thing to do. I'm with you on that. Some folks really don't know how long it all takes. But reaching out for help could always ease some of that.
I help run another model car forum and we understand the importance of working for the members. If you start to lose interest, post contests late, or even stay away for so long, these sort of situations happen. Not to mention it pushes member away. Think about it...would you want to be part of a club/group that is not consistent with the way things are being operated. Not to mention this place has ONE contest each month, only one. My forum and many alike run multiple contests every month successfully meeting deadlines and being consistent. It keeps the member coming back for more.
Take this as an experience, Mike. We all live and learn.

As for experience I am 61 years old and I managed a national sales office for more than 12 years and now run a sign company with success. It"s not the point, this is for fun only,no?. But I agree with you and this is why I leave my management post in here. For the man thing, mayby you did not understand what I meant, when I have a dispute I always talk with the concerned person first, here he was unhappy and went telling everyone like a baby. never sent me a mail.
You are probably good in what you do it shows the way you talk. But You juge me without knowing all the facts. this must mean somethings.
But like I said I left my post as an administrator, and the reason is that I have cause enough damage to this forum. I hope you and other fellows stay here and keep making this forum the nice place it always was and deserve to be.
The reason I did not answer this thread before is very simple, when I'm busy I don't go through all thread since it was not my responsability. Mine was to keep the MOM going. If you notice, this thread was posted outside of it. It did served it's purpose for sure.
But anyway it's done. I'm leaving...
Things are going to get better when you have a new administrator. I should'nt have taken that responsibility in the beginning.
PS To respect the deadlines, I started a new thread for you to enter this month contest. I'll leave Bob finish the job, but if he can't I'll do it for you guys.
So please encourage the forum by presenting your beautiful models. and please again accept my apologies. I did not do this on purpose...and don't understand the aggressivity at the beginning toward me...

wow i maybe fairly new here i was getting ready to post my box stock 32 ford roadster here but after reading this i'm going to a friendlier site thanks for showing me the hatred here i got enough of that in the past i wish you all the best later

I don't know you personally so how could I hate you? I do however dislike the way this poll has been run for the past year or so. In my post I gave out congrats to the winner, asked a question of Wagonguy1989, stated why I didn't vote and listed what I percieve as the main problems with this poll. In finishing up I suggested that you consider the time commitment necessary to do a better job here. Obviously, you agree with some of it since you've stated that you are dropping out of running it in the future. That's too bad,as a business owner, I know you understand expectations and deadlines and that's all I'm looking for here as well. The expectation of consistency in how competitors and eventual winners are displayed and starting & stopping polls on time. If you can't do both then obviously your business has to come first but we should not feel left out as a result. As for modeler friendly, I think of myself as being friendly and under a different situation I think we might be good friends but this is how we know each other and it's not working for me at this time, but that doesn't mean I hate you, and I'm sorry if that's what you've gotten from this. Simply put, dislike the actions not the actor. |

Hey everyone, I didn't read every post to be honest. All I know is I have moved out of Nebraska, now living in Colorado. I haven't been checking around online much since the move and Mike is doing his best to help me out here. I think he does a fine job and like him, I have made mistakes in the past. I hope you can look past it and let's try again next month!  It's WAY too easy to get all hurt over things typed on a forum....things can be taken to heart. It's best to wear thick skin and if it's so bad just contact each other and talk privately so there isn't anyone else jumping in making it seem worse than it is. Mike , thanks for all of your help here. I really appreciate it, keep it up! For whatever mistake was made.....I don't know what it was, just replying at the moment. I will check it out, but I am positive it was not intentional. I hope all is well....let's get to seeing those builds guys!  |
