Super nice. The second series Corvair body, especially the coupe like this one, is a GM masterpiece, and the cleaned up purity of a race car treatment only heightens what this design has to offer. I love the rake and the stripped-down elegance.

Exactly! Simple lines, smooth look make for a natural sports appeal. Thanx for a rare treat. We don't see many SCCA models anymore!

Thanks folks, the photos are making a couple of things stand out more than they do in real life, for instance, those rear shots make the exhaust megaphones look mega big, but they really aren't that huge when seen in real life. Could have been a bit smaller but then again the parts that came in the kit are just the opposite, too small in diameter and way too long, so these out of my parts stash were an improvement even if not perfect.
Thanks again and as always all comments appreciated!

That came out great JB, and with lines like it has, and that stance.... how can you NOT highlight those things when shooting pictures of it?! 👍👍
Great shots, but don't reveal your secrets.... 😄
That just might look very cool with a dark/black/gray background and/or a shiny black floor to give some cool reflection.

thank you jffj, I tend to have self-flagellation sessions after I finish builds, going over all the stuff I don't like about it, mostly with an eye to improving things on my next build. For instance on this one, paint is the big issue. That cheap hardware store paint came to bite me in the azz, but its mostly hidden in the pics. I buried the Corvair emblem on the left side in paint, and the door lines kind of disappeared as well, making my painted in door lines kind of shaky looking. The megaphone exhausts are not really to my liking. The interior not fitting up inside the body shell perfectly makes the right side of the chassis pan not fit correctly...that is being governed I think by the dashboard hitting the bottom of the windscreen, I should have ground down the bottom of the screen a bit to make it fit better. The dorky looking roll bar and especially the too thick shoulder harness on the drivers seat, I meant to sand it down to thin it out but then figured it wouldn't show too much, only to find that it is very apparent from the side view. A couple of other issues like the rear tires being kind of chunky and funky that I mentioned in the build thread. But mostly its the paint: I let it sag and then did not completely strip it (laziness, again) but figured I could sand it smooth, with the inevitable loss of detail and the sag coming back to haunt me. But all model building is a compromise, and compromises tend to compromise the end result, so its not unexpected. At least I get it done and hopefully learn something in the process.
So, you see, I am my own worst critic when it comes to looking at my models. I built them, I know where they are lacking and what I would have liked to do better. That's why I do not mind critical comments, they make me take another look at what I got and what I could get with more effort, and often those comments result in me coming up with a better end product. I particularly appreciate comments that show some depth of analysis because it shows the one making the comment is actually paying attention, and to me there is no better compliment than someone making it obvious they are paying attention.

Sounds like you're perfectly normal JB.... or you're me 😲 😄
I plead guilty to most of what you shared too. Have a bad experience with Dollar store paint, but use it again..... thinking that THIS time it will be better... 😰😬😡😂
Like you said though, as long as we learn from every one we build and apply that learned knowledge to the next one, it just gets better and better.
Weird how we're like that. I see your Corvair and it looks awesome- but you (I-we) know what's not perfect inside and underneath, etc, and wish we had addressed that.
Like I said Brother- you're "normal" 😉😊
