I don't know where to start with what's WRONG with this kit, but I'll try...It's a curbside kit, but it doesn't say that on the box. The mold must be in horrible condition. Lots of flash, with the lower edge of the trunk having almost a "flap" over the trunk line. All lines had to be scribed, and going around curves always is difficult, at least for me. It comes with a convertible boot, but one piece glass. The windshield frame was so warped, I had to glue the top to it, which eliminates the possibility of having it a convertible or hard top. The vent windows look like they'd be 1" square tubing on the real car. Chassis had everything molded in, and I really didn't do much detail to that. I bought some sheet vinyl from HL for the seat inserts. Probably the best part is the hideous custom parts that come with it. I'll find uses for them on other kits. I would NEVER put them on this car. The hood and fender letters were too faint for me to do correctly, so that's why the hood letters aren't really straight and I just put a decal over the fender letters. Exhaust tips are made from a coffee stirrer.
Some of the issues could have been remedied before I painted it, but I was going to use 2K clear, and I needed some bodies painted first. I really didn't look this one over like I should have before I painted it. The color is Rustoleum Gloss Coral. You can really notice how lighting affects color. I personally like the darker shade it gives off in natural light vs indoor lighting. My cat approves as well. I was going for a 50s Hollywood opulence look. Something Marilyn Monroe would drive.
