It only took me about 3 years to finally get this finished. I'll note a couple more things I ran into getting this for final assembly. The main one was the wheel/whitewall insert//tire/hubcap look. I painted the wheels silver (Argent?) and with the inserts in the kit tires, the (undersize!) wheel covers stuck out way too far to my eyes. Luckily I still had a set of wheels and tires from 1978 or so when I built my hardtop kits. So I painted the wheel outers black after fitting the covers a little tighter into them, and used the old tires with whitewalls painted on them to get the different look I was after. Anyway it's done and on the shelf with it's kin. It's not a perfect kit but reasonable looking anyway, so thanks for looking and your comments.
