Do these two kits share parts? I guess it would be really strange if they didn't share the same chassis and engine. What is different between the kits besides the bodies? Were the superbug gasser/streetle beetle conceived to get more mileage out of the Meyers manx tooling?

Thats kind of a good question. Since that "gasser" thing is a shortened version of a real bug, it would stand to reason it might be based on the Manx kit (or vice versa) but I have never compared them and I do not have the gasser. But I think PatW has built both, so maybe he can chime in with real-world facts on the matter. I would guess that the only shared parts, if there are any, are the basic engine and the chassis, maybe some interior stuff as well.

I just saw the coca cola shorty bug at Ollie's and the recent Meyers manx is on clearance at hobbylinc.com. I might have to pick them both up and judge for myself.

I'm an old bug freak (having owned 7 type 1's in the past), so you got my interest peaked!
