I had a slight warp in mine, so I tried heating it slowly in the oven, but got sidetracked and ruined it. Does anyone have one in their parts bin they could part with?

A month later, and still no luck. Not on Facebook or eBay. I don't even think the 61 up to 64 is even close, so I can't fudge it. I am NOT buying another kit just for the hood, lol.

I found a kit online that was only 20 bucks, shipped. Now I have a another question. How hard would it be to make a mold of the hood and make a duplicate hood out of resin?
Has anybody here molded their own parts?

Well, guess you haven't read any of my posts on resin casting, (see "What's on your Bench") I have been resin casting for over 40 years, actually part of the group that pioneered home casting.
To answer your question starting with no material, and having a master, your looking at, at least the full price of another kit, to cast just a hood.
too bad you bought another kit, cause I have a spare hood, I was just seeing if anyone else was gonna reply to you first.

Well, nobody did. How much for the hood you have? The kit is sealed, and I really hate opening it just to get the hood out.

Since I haven't connected with a hood for this, for now, it shall remain hoodless. I did buy another kit thinking it was open, but is factory sealed and shall remain that way.

Those kits seem cheap and plentiful on ebay. And aren't they regulars on Hobby Lobby (detest that place, myself) shelves and regularly down to 40% off?
Anyway I have the kit, will never build the kit, and thought about just sending it to you, but it is sealed so, you know, hoarderism takes over at some point...

I totally understand! I bought what I thought was an open kit, but it was sealed, and I don't want to break the seal just for the hood. Then, unless I did something really radical with the new kit, I'd need another hood, lol.

After about 8 months of searching eBay, I finally found a hood for the car. Yay!
