A different kind of "Smokin' Joe"

For those of you old enough to remember the 90's, you might remember the Camel Cigarette ads with "Smokin' Joe" the camel. For those not old enough to remember that (or were not on the scene just yet), He was a cool cigarette smoking camel that always seemed to be on the winning end of any situation. Now, I am NOT condoning cigarette smoking here. Just associating a cool camel with.... well... a cool sopwith F1 Camel

Great looking Sopwith
When I was a kid in the 1960's, I took a bus trip with the Boys Club to tour Washington DC. On the way up there, we stopped to tour the cigarette factory in North Carolina. Right in the main room when you first walked in was a life-sized display of a camel made from tobacco. It made quite an impression on me as a kid, though not as much as the visit to see the battleship USS North Carolina. The night time show was fantastic with all the sights and sounds of naval combat from WW2.
