This was a weird kit. I think I've read here or on another site that there were issues with fitment, and they're true. I think the person ended up using the chassis from a 69 Hurst/Olds instead of the one that came with it. First, I don't think the chassis is supposed to be that pointy in the front. In the rear, it had what I would call an extension on the chassis. About 3/4 inch of extra plastic. I didn't know what I was going to do to cut it off, so I lightly bent it, and it ended up snapping off smoothly.
I had a friend that had a 72 Lemans this color that the original owner spent the extra $47 dollars, or whatever, to have the GTO hood and grille. He let me use the car for awhile as my truck was down. I used it as a daily driver and then as my lawn service vehicle. He ended up selling it to my sister for about $100, and she used that car and a beat up Duster to buy an 85 Lebaron convertible. I think the Lebaron was new, so it must have been around 85 or 86. The wheels are as close as I had for the slotted Ansen type mags that were on it.
This is painted with a Testor's blue and 2K clear. I didn't detail the interior too much as it was black anyway, and no real defining armrests or window/door cranks. Engine compartment isn't even worth showing it's so sparse. You can see the area on the hood where they grooved underneath for a cut out. The trunk has 4 injection "dents" in it as well as what looks like a dent on the side. The rear bumper is too wide and the roll pan did not fit as intended. I had to snip off a good 1/8th inch on each side. I didn't use the wing as first, it's for a 69 or 70 Judge, plus my buddy's car didn't have it.
This photo really shows the shine I achieved with it.
