As usual, I fought with the paint on the Lincoln. As pretty of colors Rustoleum puts out, I will not use that paint again for any model. Too unpredictable. The Lincoln went through 5 paint jobs. It wouldn't dry very well after several days, then usi9ng Rustoleum clear, it crinkled the paint. I ended up using a clear enamel from Duplicolor. I can't get the shine I'd like. It just won't polish up! It stayed hazy. Maybe after a month or so, I can try to polish it again. I used the clear windshield on another model a few years ago. Color is Ocean Mist. Not a factory color. With the hood ornament on, the hood won't open. They didn't give me a tiny little spring to bend when it was open, lol.
The Chrysler was a bit different. My main issue was getting the chassis to fit the body in the front. It kept feeling like it was binding in front. Some parts fit weird, and the instructions didn't make it any easier. Color is Chrysler Champagne Metallic. 2K clear. I didn't notice till it was too late that the headlight pods are car colored. Oops.

Both superbly done. And both handsome examples of the period. Nice color choices, too.

They both look great to me ! In spite of your paint issues the Lincoln is the perfect color , much nicer than all black . I quit buying Duplicolor many years ago for the same reasons , plus the spray nozzles were terrible . The only Duplicolor I still use is their White Automotive Primer , maybe the best stuff out there but very hard to find .

I really wanted a high gloss on it, but I just couldn't achieve it.

Great minds think alike, you did a stunning job on this classic Lincoln, I did mine in 2020 1/32 scale Palmer with Krylon paint and clear no problems, sometimes humidity can mess with you🤣
