...and I have a few unfinished, broken and unbuilt car models from my early 1960's to mid 70's hobby. Also a few recent purchases. I was going to try to work on them when I realized 50 year old brushable paint has dried up. I looked at the cost of buying Testors paint---oh, ohh.....guess I won't be doing any building.....unless someone can point me to an affordable source of paint. I'm in Canada if that matters.
EDIT: I don't see 'Add Attachment', reason - to add pics.

Wow! Congratulations on your return to the hobby. I'm probably about the same age as you and was also an avid car model builder then. I recommend that you try water-base acrylic paint instead of the traditional solvent-based enamels. Commonly known as "craft paints" you can probably find them at a reasonable price at the various craft chain stores (often using a discount coupon, too) and even at the "dollar stores" sometimes. Both flat and gloss acrylics are available and they are pretty good. Don't confuse them with those horrible poster paints from our childhood. Just get one to try. If you like it, get more. If not, try another brand or two.
Also, there is renewed interest in what are called survivors -- kits and builds from before the 1980s. It sounds like you're already set since you already have them...and the memories from that time. Some that I remember from that time were re-released many times since such as the AMT Double Dragster (Fiat and multiple version rail), the AMT Ala Kart and a bunch of the old parts packs by AMT and Revell.
Please show us what you're working on. I, and I'm sure that others, would like to see them and rekindle our childhood memories, too.

Ditto, and ditto on the paint recommends. Also, take a look at a hobby shop sometime if you have one near. TAMIYA paint is one of the most friendly paints that are not like the Pactra or Testors or Humbrol paints we use to have to work with. And... WELCOME ABOARD!

"EDIT: I don't see 'Add Attachment', reason - to add pics." It can be tricky until you get the hang of it. Essentially, the photos that you want to post have to be stored online somewhere that lets you create links to them. I use flickr.com but there are many others. Here's a link that explains it:

Good luck! If it doesn't work out at first, keep trying.
