I took a few months off to get my head fully removed from my rectum.  Painful process.

Anyway, I met a beautiful woman that I'm head over heels for at this time.  She loves classic cars, and I saw on her FB page that she posted a picture of a 63 Corvette restomod.  I told her I probably have that model (I did), and I would build it for her to her liking.  While the 'vette she posted was black, she said she wants one in Tiffany Blue.  I looked up "Tiffany Blue" and there actually is a color.  I found a very close color at Walmart.  I think it came out a bit too blue, so I might need to keep looking.  I don't think it would matter to her, but it does to me, lol.I also started back on my Sandy Elliot Shelby.

I've made some progress on the 'vette and my Mustang, but the Mustang is STILL fighting me, lol. I think I'm ready for the 2K clear. However, I need to line up some other cars or items to clear coat since the can is expensive, and it doesn't last more than a few days when activated. It doesn't help that it's cold and rainy out either.  The kit itself is pretty poor quality for an AMT kit.  So much flash and thick sprues attached to delicate parts make it hard to not ruin them taking them off.  That's what happened to the steering wheel.  I'm not sure what kit this wheel is from as it came from my stash, but the length was perfect, so I used it.

You have probably mentioned it before, but how do you do your door gaps and what do you use?
They really add a classy touch.

It's all looking sweet with all the issues of a mold thats from the 1963 annual kit. Is that the kit steering wheel? Paul

Yep! There is a "Tiffany Blue". Slightly deeper than "Robin Egg Blue" and "Real Teal" or "Carribean Blue". It was a factory color that almost all the "Big 3" were offering that was not green OR blue, but both. Sweet color choice for a 'Vette that isn't black (nothing wrong with black though... ) or lipstick red.

Thanks all! I just used a very fine tip black pen for the door gaps. The steering wheel was from my parts stash as I mentioned, the one that came with the kit was almost one big glob of plastic with thick flash.

Yeah, Tiffany Blue seems to be interpreted differently by whoever wants to call their paint "Tiffany Blue." lol.

Finished the prep for clear coat. Today looks like it will be a good day to do it after over a week of rain.

Finally finished the 'Vette.

The story is, I met this beautiful Asian girl on Facebook. We've been talking for a few months now. She's into classic American cars, and likes the 63 split window 'vette. She's in San Francisco, and I'm at the Texas/Mexico border(waaaayy down south Texas.) I've made my reservations for the 21st of December through the 26th. Her birthday is the 24th, so this is her present.

The kit was a pain as way too much flash, it was molded in red, which made even painting it a pain. The chrome was nasty as well. I relocated the battery to the front. The wheels are from the 66 Mercury kit and the spinners were from the 'Vette kit, and I noticed after taking the picture that the front right is off camber, lol. She wanted the license plate to reflect our respective birthdays.

I realized I forgot to paint the front turn signals. I took care of that today.
