This is from the switch era in the late 50's when Dry Lake racers started to got go the drag race route.
Made the buggy spring rear set up using extra parts from the Atlantic Fiat kit along with the quick change and axle tubes. The rear spring /shock mounts are from the Tweedy Pie kit and the ends of the Revell 9 inch are grafted on. Front axle is the Revell 32 axle with the spring from the Fiat kit grafted one. Front shocks and mounts are from the Fiat also. Body is channeled 8mm and top is chopped 6mm.

Mocked up the engine set back and roughed out the mounts. The mounts will need lightening holes and a small flange added. The engine is a resin 1957 Olds 371 c.i. based on the Caddy engine pack. I cast up a few engines years ago. Still have a few more body mods left to do.

Love the chop Paul. The engine set back is perfect. Love the Olds. Are you going to replicate the rag wrapped around the push bar? :-)

I will, using a tissue and diluted white glue.
