Ordinarily you would see carbs on a tunnel ram like this And Injector on a blower like this I wanted to use this set up combining injector on tunnel ram. This is a very common used set up here at our local dragstrip. For sand and dirt they use a filter like this Then it gets a cover such as this I'm using a resin part from BNL The molded on scoop is a little small, and I want it to match the one on my pavement car like this one These are the matching scoops I hollowed out the bottom of the red one Then I trimmed the side of the resin scoop And slid it over top Now I have matching scoops For the mounting plate on the ft. I used a PE visor that I cut down and reshaped Then added some Grandt Line bolts Thanks Jim

Thanks Dave,
At first I was gonna take the easy route, and just cut the filter off and glue it on the new scoop, but then I was concerned with alignment and strength. So doing it this way was actually the easy route. Glad you like seeing the process, as you know taking pics as you build, takes as much time as the building, now we know why it takes me so long to get stuff done, LOL.

"Dammit Jim!" :-) (as Bones from Star Trek would say.) Man, someone finally as seemingly insane as I am to look at a Bic lighter as something more than to set oneself on fire with. Diggin' the work! I guess that could be a "pun intended" statement! Haa!!!! Oh the insanity can be contagiously fun.....

Thanks Tom
"Dammit Jim" believe me, not the first time I've heard that, LOL
A long time ago, I saw a BIC lighter crushed in the road, and thought, "wow, look at all those cool parts" That's the thing about us model builders we see things, not for what they are, but what they could be. To us the world is just one big parts box, LOL

I used to use a lot of after market AN fittings, as good as they look they can get pretty pricey. For a cheaper solution, (but a little more work) for many years now, I make my fittings out of Plastruct Hex Rod. I cut a section off, and sand it flat. Mount it in a vise and center punch a hole with a pin, then drill it out. While the bit is still in it I cut off the length I want. This keeps the fitting from collapsing when its cut. Instead of cutting two fittings for the red and blue ends, I cut one long one, scribe a seam in the middle of them to look like two separate fittings (hard to see in the photo) then paint one side blue then the hose end red. Here you can see a painted one (still gotta paint the rest of them) In the back ground is a guitar string I use as a fuel shut off cable. And on the front of the pump, a Detail Masters wing bolt for a manual shut off valve. Thanks Jim
