Second day on the Vespa. The first photo shows the rear light unit and number plate. The second shows the front and rear seats. As a 16-17 year old I had a Lambretta and some of my 'MOD' mates had Vespa's.

I never did Lego's, I first saw them when I was well into my teens. Pretty cool.

Yes Dave, LEGO have come a long way. When our two sons had the small kits 440 years ago, I used to pinch various bits and make all manner of things, but in those days they on had one type of wheel now they have about a dozen different designs and tyres!

Well kool on the Vespa! I always thought the mods were more partial to Lambrettas, so you must have been in like Flynn back then! I don't imagine you have any photos of your old ride or the scene in general? I have never built any LEGOs but I did see something mindblowing a while ago. Back in the 70s the Grateful Dead practically bankrupted themselves with this massive Owsley-designed "Wall of Sound" sound system they tried to take on tour with them. Totally impractical but it was ground breaking in sound system technology mainly because Bear used Macintosh hi fi amplifiers rather than "pro" equipment, which possibly contrary to what you might think, was a huge upgrade in sound quality, though they proved way too fragile for everyday touring use. With that in mind, a LEGOs "wall of sound" replica. Man I wish someone sold something like this in kit form! jb

Wow jb that is something else! As well as photo's go of 'the old days', we never carried camera's as they were very expensive or complete rubbish. And of course colour tv and colour film was unheard of!

Well it's been an interesting build, but it's not quite finished. First picture is the engine and the second is very close to the finish, with side panels, steering, stand and headlight fitted. A few bocks just need a squeeze up.
