Gonna be a good save. Care to go into what makes this a "balloon car"? At first I expected to see a car made of blown up and twisted balloons and I HAD to see that!

It was built to follow hot air balloons and collect them and the passengers when they landed, thats why the wings are made of leather so they didnt scratch up when the basket was loaded.

Oh, that makes sense, would have never guessed that. Thanks for the explanation!

Beautiful work. Too bad about the hood hinge. It looks like the previous builder put a whole tube of glue on there. The wood grain looks amazing as does the body and the engine.

There is so much missing in this kit it may end up being bin fodder, lots missing from engine, lots missing broken or glued in the wrong orientation. The silver lady is missing to be honest I wonder if it's worth the effort or if I have the skills. It definitely wasn't a bargain. One of the chrome strips is missing from the bottom of the bonnet

I doubt most of us would notice the bits missing. Sorry that the kit wasn't as advertised. I've been there as well.

I agree with Dave above. You're doing a great job on it so far...just run with it as is.
