Chopped the top on a 48 ford that I'm working on . I am having trouble getting new opening lines scribed in . This is a not the only model I have made but it has been years since I tried another . Like 50 years . What I did back when was not well done and many a model was scraped because of my perfection issues . Sorry no pics yet . Any help will be appreciated greatly .

Well there are a lot of methods to do this but what I do is use a piece of Dymo Labeling Tape stuck on the area as a guide and then use the back side of an X Acto blade to gently at first score in the new line. It's important not to bare down to hard at first, pressing a little harder with subsequent passes until the desired depth of the line is achieved. I would suggest practicing this technique first on a piece of scrap first. Hope this helps.

Thanks , I have tried tape as a guild but one slip and thru the tape and start over . Very frustrating Now where is that dyno tape at ? Junk drawer I hope . Getting old and a little shaky does not help either. I used to pinstripe cars back in the day too but unless really squiggly lines come in that is over also . Again Thanks ,

Use 2 layers of the Dymo tape. I've done several using 2 layers with great results.
