The 1 to 1 was a theft recovery my uncle bought in the summer of 1968. The Big Block, trans and wheels were gone along with seats and other interior parts. He set it up to run H/Gas with is limited to 6 cylinder and Flat head V8s only.
power was a 1953 Mercury flat head bored and stroked to 315 cubic inches with Aluminum Hi Comp heads, a Chet Hurbert 'full race cam' , tri power and home made long tube headers running through a Super T 10 4 speed to a 12 bolt with 5:13 gears. Consistent mid 12's. ran until 1970 when a rule change banned it from the class. Paul

Cool authentic tribute build. I like the back story included. Well done!

Cool race car which I suspect was a combination of cheap (but elegant) sheet metal and serious drag racing knowledge to create an Unfair Advantage... I dig the underhood view, especially.

Wow! I've seen the under hood shot somewhere on Facebook at some point. Very cool to hear the actual story, and what an odd combination! Super cool.

That sounds wild too. Where are you sourcing the 292? Modifying an AMT six (Nova or Chevelle?), or one from a Trumpeter Nova?
I'm a bit of a Chevy six nerd, though I'm more into the 216/235/261s than the 194/230/250/292s.

I got a 292 years ago when it was in production from a resin caster called Kitchen Table Resin. I.m using the bottom end only and making the 292 head from the Trumpeter Nova mostly. I'll post my turbo, injected 261 R.E.D. C/dragster Also have a 235 powered Anglia and a few Hudson drag cars. I like all 6 banger powered things. I was building a real 1950 GMC 302ci truck 6 bored and stroked to 330ci for my 55 a number of years ago and the entire bottom was stolen!

Bummer about the GMC! I'm building a '57 235 for my '50 Chevy pickup. It's mild, but will be a big upgrade from the 216 currently in it.
