Saw a car like this online and loved it, and had nothing on the bench "Screaming" for my attention so I decided it would be a fun project, and it would nice to be on a shelf to enjoy It's a converted plastic AMT kit with a roof from a '53 fors and side trim added to give it the right look. I forgot to mention that Modelhaus supplied the '51 grill and bumpers and the dash several years ago, that are all still packed away A long way to go for finishing the polishing ans foil and a ton of details, but hey...... no rush . 17 years retired, you just "Dally" . Time for another cup as I watch the PGA TOUR.

A lot of work already..I see the curvature on hood for example, and U nailed the trim.

Forgot to mention on the last pic I set the Modelhaus bumper/grill in place and mocked it up with the hood on. I like it so far. The foiled side view gives me some energy to keep going. Lot's of foiling to do.
I modified the bumper from modelhaus to match the arch of the new trim shape. Originally it was the shape of the front of the wheel well opening.

I like the rear view too. This is fun. The stock side trim was a bit short, so I had to make it longer and wrap it around the rear just a bit. A stock '51 ford trim goes all the way across the back, but I wanted to modify the look just a "Tad" and keep that area all one color - personal taste .
I like that for a 1951 design, the car has a nice simple , yet kind of elegant look for the era, and doesn't look as if it been modified as much as it has.

That looks really good, nice work on the conversion! Big thumbs up as I like to see different body styles built in scale, and this definitely fits in that category. Excellent work with the BMF as well, this will be a very nice model when finished.
