This model comes with 900F decals as well. Unfortunately, they only work on a light color paint, such as the silver. I found that out the hard way. There is a website that sells real 900F decals on eBay, so I downloaded the picture and used them. I had to use white decal paper and use a blue fill. When choosing the color, I can only give it my best guess as to how close I'm getting to the paint. If anybody has a better idea, please let me know.
This particular model came with the aftermarket header, which I needed. It came black, and I need it chrome. It also has the stock exhaust. I looked on other modelling sites for a decent "chrome" paint, and they suggested a Duplicolor chrome. Doesn't work. To me, it looks like a very low sparkle silver. $10 for that failed experiment, but I can use it for other stuff. I have touted this inexpensive tape I get at the 99cent store. $1.00 a roll versus how much is BMF? I'd say give it a try. It's cheap enough and about the same mil thickness.
Had I known I was going to wrap it, I would have left it in the 4 pieces it comes in. I think I could have gotten it smoother. Oh well. However, I could still get it wrapped. I did it many pieces smoothing it down with a toothpick. It took about an hour to do. The pictures don't do it justice, really. It does look more polished aluminum than it does chrome. I'm contemplating spraying it with the 2k when I spray the body parts. I think that might make it look smoother.
Very detailed engine and other parts, and complete decals for instruments. I haven't built a motorcycle model...ever? It should be interesting at 1/12th scale.

Have you ever tried the Molotow chrome pens? If not, you should. Once you learn to apply it, straight out of the pen, you will find it really does come very close to "chrome". Not silvery like that duplicolor stuff, or the old model master chrome silver, this stuff really looks like chrome. Especially on fairly small surfaces like those pipes. Use the 2mm size pen and flood it on, let it dry up for a good 24 if not more, and it will shrink right down and look great, especially if you prep the surface carefully first.
Nice job on the bike, I will be following this one

Thank you. I'll have to look for that. Okay, HL has a 1 and 4 mm pen. 12.99 with the 40 off coupon makes it cheaper than eBay.
I came across this video today. Really does look good.
Here is a link to buy it on eBay. Sort of pricey for the kit. In my opinion, they could leave out everything but the Easy Chrome paint itself.

Of course, HL doesn't have what you want, its pretty much always like that. Just like Home Depot: they got all this stuff, everything but what I was looking for!
I have yet to use my 4mm pen, its tip is just too big. The 2mm I find to be perfect for doing small parts, while the 1mm is ok for sprue cut off touch up and the like. I would recommend you get a 2mm even if you have to pay full tilt, but see how you like the ones you got first.
A friend of mine used that Alsa stuff for a helmet just like in the illustration, and also for "chroming" some parts for his Harley. Both worked out great but I would wonder how well it holds up with normal handling, his hasn't degraded much over the year or so since he did it, so I guess its pretty durable. Probably overkill for models though, unless you want to do some big pieces.
Anyway, like your bike, and I think the Molotow will amaze you. Just be sure to let it dry for at least 24 hours before even thinking about handling it, I generally let it sit a couple days or more, but I am rarely in a hurry anyhow.

I need some advice on how to make the fairing for my model. Would it be easier to find something I can carve the fairing out of or piece it together with plastic stock? It's going to be about 1.5" wide or so. Here's what it looks like.

I'd look for an odd part with a similar shape then "massage" it into the shape I need.
