I have a large die cast collection, but some how I missed these. Thanks to your thread, I went to ebay and found these. They were $15 for the pair..delivered. Not too bad for something discontinued. Yes, I do ruin their collector value by opening them... This one I think I will just do a little detail painting on. Thanks again Jim

They are to be enjoyed. It may hurt money value if resold, but so what?! I say enjoy them, do what you want!!! Neat little cars.

If you use acetone and a brush on the back of the card, it will "usually" seep through and the blister will pull right off. Then you can detail them and put them back, if you so desire. I know it works on Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars.

Hey deuce, I haven't tried that to remove the "blister", but I do use acetate to remove the Tampos (decals and lettering) from die cast, to save the paint. In the past, I cut the back on 3 edges, pull the car out, detail it, then carefully slip it back in, and tape up the back.

Even though I remove most all of my die cast from the packages, I keep some in, not for collector value, but because I like the packaging. My favorites to keep in the package, are what I call "triples". That's when the card matches the vehicle, and there is something extra, like a little box, or collector card, etc. Most all of the ones I keep in the package, I have one that I removed from the package also. When I remove the vehicles from the packaging, and it has an interesting picture on the card its mounted on, I cut the "blister" around the bottom with an e-xacto knife and save the card. Sometimes the vehicle hides part of the picture. Often times I will use the blister part as a little parts container. One of my Favorites, the car with the little box And with the actual Aurora kit. Thanks Jim
