Build thread here: no-va!AMT Chevy II Nova station wagon, built with kustom parts, inside and out, from kit. Didn't use AMT putty though! Switched out kit 6 cylinder engine for Revell Black Widow Rochester fuel injection small block Chevy, embossing powder carpeting, a little scratchbuilding in there. Paint is hardware store grade Red Chili Pearl or something close covered with Tamiya Clear Red followed by Tamiya Clear and polished with polishing kit. Many thanks for looking and all comments welcomed! jb

That turned out very cool! I think I said it during the build process, but I'll say it again: It's good to see one of these kits built with the original custom parts, but with today's modeling skills and techniques. Definitely best looking Wagon that I've seen with these custom parts attached. Very nice work as always!

I love collecting unsolicited comments made elsewhere where the commenter is pretty sure the subject will never see it. To wit (and that's speaking loosely): >I actually saw a builder on another forum take a mint example of this kit and add the goofy looking custom pieces to it. And yeah, it was horrible to >watch and look at when it was done. Hey! glad to hear I made your day! Maybe you should have included a link to this thread or to my gallery so everyone could laugh at how horrible it is? Here is a link to the original build thread too...maybe you never actually looked at it, as this kit was far from mint, in fact, the front and rear pieces were already attached and in fact I removed most of the rear treatment. But don't let faks get in the way of a good slur. jb wasting his time and ruining a perfectly good classic kitI have a couple more of these "mint" kits too if you want them. Special price to you, my friend, because I know you cannot afford what they go for and that Round 2 thing is never gonna happen. jb

Thank you Ron.
Honestly I expect to be made out to be a villain, as usual, with a good chance of getting myself booted from this site. Its good to see the admin is laughing...a good sign.
When I was young they used to say: "That's what we like about William, he is such a good bad example."

I missed this one the first time around . . . I like it !! When I first started out I would add all of those custom parts and usually make a big mess with glue all over everything , but they were cool . Thanks for the memories !

Thank you Bob and mustang1989, I think that's two more comments into the "not horrible to look at" column!
I don't mind negatory comments at all, in fact I actively solicit comments, good, bad or ugly, for any of the builds I show here. Its just when people slink off elsewhere and post stuff like that that I get a bit bugged. No problem on the opinion though, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder after all, but it would do me and others more good to post them where any misunderstandings can be addressed and straightened out.
But hey, its all in the game and someone making negative comments isn't going to put me in the coronary ward or anything, I gots pretty thick skin after all these years.
And Bob, I have to say, your "little" recreations of the "big" models continue to be an inspiration to me. Love those things...gotta build a Little Tub myself one of these days.

Just people who don't have a spine to be able to say what they feel to a person directly and then trying to make themselves look good in the eyes of others. Same ol' drumbeat to a different tune. Don't sweat 'em man. People like that get what's coming to them....sooner....or later.

Besides you didn't attack anyone personally or by name. Always look forward to your build posts and commentaries from your perspective. A simmering pot does need to be stirred every now and again.
