Well here is one I bet no one here (Mr Faust aside, that is) ever consider worthy of a build. A Kei car with a full on body kit, turbo charged little engine of approx. 800cc (that's right, a medium size motorcycle engine size) putting out maybe 52 hp in a car that weighs 1345 lbs. Pretty kool stuff if you ask me, and with the bulged out body kit and some massive wheels and tires I am going to use, plus some Italian Red paint, makes it a little Korean Ferrari! As per usual with Fujimi kits, there is no engine detail beyond the molding on the chassis bottom plate, so I am just going to flat black the chassis, which is ok because I had to do major surgery to fit the wide azz tires up under there, even with the fender extensions.
One problem right off, its not 1/24 scale as claimed, from my research it appears to scale out at approx. 1/21 to 1/22 scale. So a little larger than advertised. Which is a shame because I was hoping it was actually as small as it should be. It kind of towers over some much larger cars I have around, so it was pretty obvious it was out of scale from the first time I took it out of the box.
Heres the box art...I am going to mix and match components from both versions for this build.
And the body, with body kit installed, painted Tamiya Italian Red with clear overcoat, but still in need of a polish and detail:
Looks a lot like a Chevrolet Sprint that was sold here in the states at one time, but I am not sure of the exact lineage. I believe I read it was GM related somehow.
Here is another look with the proposed meats.
Its gonna be bad!
Have already pretty much completed the interior, a mish mash of parts from the two versions, though pretty simple. No belt detail or side panel detail to speak of so going to pretty much leave it as it is. A little detail painting and embossing powder carpeting, and one major conceit on the package shelf.
and the rest, awaiting the carpet drying for installation
Alright, thanks for looking and all comments cheerfully fielded!
