Fiat Competition Fuel Coupe This was my fourth and last entry in the 2018 TRaK Autorama, which had 4 categories, Hot Rod, Street, Competition and Custom. I managed one in each but this one, in Competition, crashed and burned at the 11th hour with a huge paint malfunction. Fortunately, I was far from the only one with last minute problems and the judges decided to extend the December 31st deadline to January 19th 2019. With the extra two weeks I sanded the resin body down to a smooth, even surface and repainted it. Without a complete set of the original custom printed decals I landed simplifying the graphics design a bit but everyone who followed the project seemed to think it actually looked better as a result. Here are the build particulars along with additional photos. for lookin’, B. - Base kit: MPC Ramchargers FED: Chassis, rear end, interior controls and seat
- Body: Chopped Fiat Competition Coupe by Fremont Resins, including medium wheelbase nose option. Roof and rear window areas added using styrene sheet.
- Motor and clutch: 392 Chrysler from AMT Piranha kit. Scot Super Slot injection by Altered States Models
- Front Suspension and steering: From Revell Tony Nancy ,Double Dragster kit.
- Rear Wheels and Tires: Wheels from Tony Nancy kit, AMT Parts Pack Tires
- Front Wheels and Tires: TruWire hand laced wire wheels by Curt Raitz at miniscurtraitzing.com, Dunlop tires from Tony Nancy Kit.
- Paint: Tamiya Transparent Red over Testors Pure Gold lacquer. Tamiya clear coats over delf-design and custom printed gold decals.
