Little movement on this build. I'm trying to sort out the rear suspension, the axle they supply is too short, the upright on one side is completely vertical but the otherside wants to be upright but at 45 degrees! The problem is that both front and back suspension and steering are very thin and flimsy with poor locations. EG pins and holes on the instructions but not on the parts and excessive chrome plating, in fact I'v had to dip all plating in oven cleaner and take it off due to difficulty removing plating from very small contact points.

Never have attempted to build one of these so I'm not much help but stripping the chrome sounds like a good first step to figuring it all out . Looking forward to seeing this one finished !

Thanks Bob. Yes I'd like to see it finished too! I've had to tackle gull-wing type doors before and they take a bit to line up and work reasonable well.

Looking good so far Pat. I've never built one of these before either so I'm looking forward to seeing it to completion.

I've got the wheels after fighting with flimsy/thin parts both the front and rear suspension, brake discs and front steering using various bits of plastic to beef it all up. Plus making a longer rear axle.

I've stuck the top and bottom parts of the body together. There were a couple of slight marks from taping the two halves together, but I've been able to polish those out................ the next bit will be interesting as it's fitting the screens and gullwing doors before fitting the roof to the body.........I found this pic on the web.

Wow that is an interesting kit, and you did a great job overcoming the struggles, looks like to me. That engine, is that a Corvair? And its TWIN turbocharged? I never realized that at all, but maybe I was confusing it with the drag racing version which of course is much more Neanderthal in the engine department. And you say one of the turbos is fouling the lid? Like probably sanding down the bottom of it would have allowed clearance by letting it sit lower? If so that's a very handy tip for next builds...meanwhile one more on the to get list. And I am impressed how you got the top, doors and windows to fit, in the pictures at least they look perfect. Another nice one for the shelf!

Thanks jb. Yes it's a Corvair six. I build them as I go along. I haven't got the knack of part building to check clearances, especially with this one and it's awfull two piece body.
