Imai's old convertible may not be the best kit in the world, but I think that it might be possible to do something out of that one too. The side trim removed and bumper holes filled to give it a smooth, rounded look. Porsche Fuchs wheels, detailed with red instead of black, since this one is getting a red paintjob. Disc brakes all around. I have never liked the Super Beetle dash with its square protruding instrument cluster, so I made a custom dash with a narrowed Porsche 911 top and built up the shape against the windshield with the rear part of the stock dash, styrene strips, CA glue and baking soda.

Chrysler Claret red... I love this color! Going for a grey/black interior so I have shot grey on the floor mats while the carpeting is getting some black later... Shot the grey on the seats too... Stock rear seat but the front buckets is out of a Scirocco, looks a bit nicer. Very bad picture, shaky hands and crappy mobile camera, but the dash is detailed and ready, and of course it got a Porsche 911 steering wheel too. Lowered as much as possible with those wheels.....but it's enough.

Yeah, it looks quite proper with the grey/black combo. Sprayed some flat black on the top too, looks more like fabric and less like plastic now. The seats are finished too and I thought red seatbelts would be a nice touch, matching the paint and won't disappear against neither grey or black. Since there was no belts molded into the Scirocco seats though, I had to take a pair from the parts box. Conway Twitty or Megadeth? Whatever you prefer, speakers is a good thing to have. It's getting close!
