Another gorgeous recreation(?). I've always contended that, despite things like molded-in chassis and a certain fragility at times, Monogram produced, hands down, the best replicas and evocations of the hot rod style contemporary to the time the kits were released. And your perceptive and impeccably rendered builds show exactly that. Bravo!

Until a couple years ago when I restored the first one I never thought much about it but now I really do see that the folks at Monogram new what they were doing .

I was that guy who always super detailed everything , right down to the brake line clips . But with these I think that less is better . . . keeping it simple and clean is much more fun to build !

Generally speaking, I hate those Tom Daniel "creations" but this one (and the two other in that group photo) have to be the exception to that rule. He managed to restrain his worst instincts toward cartoons on these three, and you have done a great job of showcasing them in their best light. Makes me want to go out and get one of these "Son of Ford"s as well as that Boss A Bone, and believe me, not much has made me think that about his designs. Very nice work making those come alive Bob! Only thing I think I would have changed would be those oversize exhaust collectors, but they were right out of the box so quite appropriate for your build, sweet and to the point! And I agree with the decals: looked kind of plain without them, much better now.

You've mellowed JB . I'm aware of your general dislike for the Tom Daniel and similar off kilter kits , so thank you for the compliment . I agree with you somewhat about those huge header dumps , they're one of the reasons this model sat untouched for a few years after I disassembled it . Once I got into doing the Box Art builds they didn't bother me as much , and now I like the look because it does match the box art .

Another stellar build from your ongoing vintage Monogram series. Hope to source the parts to do my own version someday. But, as I'm sure you know, some of these parts were only in this issue, making parts sourcing difficult and/or spendy
