Just finished the restoration of a built 40 coupe I got off Ebay and since I had a extra complete chassis and coupe interior I found a complete body on Ebay and its on the way so another 40 is going to be built,I will be using the last of the extra parts so if I want to build another then I will get a complete kit. Not sure how I am going to build this one since I do have a couple small block Ford motors and might make it a 70s style hotrod.

The molded-in exhaust on the undercarriage always bugged me, but the coupe was pretty. I once began the "frumpy" sedan, but just couldn't do it stock. I overlaid styrene strips, did some shaping and covered the top in beige cloth, making it a convertible sedan (or sometimes called a phaeton). I think the '39 was the last year for the ragtop sedan. The paint came out terrible and I abandoned the kit. Wish now I had finished it. Good luck with your project. It IS a classic!

The coupe body was in the mail today and I think I am going to build this one as a project in progress with different colored body parts.

Thought of another 40 build,I want to build a standard version of the sedan delivery so it looks like I will be getting a sedan delivery and sedan kits to do it so with the parts left over can build another sedan.

Last year a small hobby shop closed where I used to get parts but it has reopened so the madness is back on and got three bags of much needed 40 parts so I was able to get enough parts to build a standard version of the sedan delivery and plenty of extra parts for future builds.

Probably will not get into building them until it gets cold,too many projects still need to be done in the garage before the snow arrives.
