I've been absent for a while but I started a new build yesterday , the Tom Daniel re-issue of the "Little T" called the "Swee'T'ee . I actually remember when I bought this kit in the early 70's and it has survived along with several others . Since I've been restoring early Monogram kits I figured now was a good time to build one right out of the box with virgin plastic , and it will look great on the shelf next to the Boss A Bone I finished a while back ! First task was to glue the engine halves together , then sand and polish the main parts . The sanding and polishing sticks make quick work of this . I made some quickie decals for the tailgate and the radiator shell . It's hard to see in the photos but a coat of TS-13 Clear really makes the yellow pop ! I used Testors Yellow in the small bottle to detail some parts before assembly . And that's where I'm at right now . . . more to come !

Wow this should be great Bob! I don't think I've ever seen one of these build up, least of all done in your impeccable style. I wonder if you could post a close up shot of the rare "that issue only" headers? Thanks for posting.

The exciting thing about this model to my eyes is the exceptionally low and aggressive stance of the box illustration. Combined with your careful attention to keeping this a clean, precise execution, I'm really looking forward to seeing yellow jewel realized in three dimensions. Low stance t-buckets are actually fairly uncommon in the world of scale models and this promises to be a knockout when done.
Makes me think how nice it would be if this kit were more generally available.

While we're dreaming even add parts to build the Little Rod and Little Drag? We know the basic bones of the kit still exist. I know I'd buy three of them right off the bat.

Looking at the Little T on my shelf it actually sits pretty high and doesn't have that aggressive look . I may try to adjust the ride height a bit , or maybe the big & little tires will help !

Every time there's a discussion about the Little T it's said that the headers were carried over to the SweeTee version and then lost forever . Actually the ones in Little T have an end cap held on with some type of wingnut while the SweeTee headers are shortened with an angle cut . An easy modification that I think looks really great !

Thanks Bob! That;s exactly what I needed to see. I think the only difference is what you described and that's good news. I think have an old set of original headers I can modify and T parts I can cobble together to finally build a "Little Rod". Now just to figure out the wheels and tires. Thanks again, saving the pic for reference.

Maybe on another Tom Daniel kit , probably also hard to find .

Hi Bob, This is a great thread in so many ways. Having the kit all this time is great, and building it is even greater. You gotta get outta my head, Man. Every time I'm gathering parts for a clone, you build the real thing, which has been good reference for my (and other peoples) builds haha From what I've found, the rims for this are also in the "Hangman" and the "Dragon (Circus) Wagon".Both expensive. I have them both but don't want to rob them. I believe the scoop, and blower could come from the "Hairy Olds" with the blower needing trimming.
Speaking of which, if you haven't assembled it yet, could we get a photo of the bottom of the scoop?
Can't wait to see this one done also.
Thanks
Jim

Thanks Jim , that's some good information ! I picked up a Circus Wagon last year on ebay for under $40 including shipping so they aren't all priced too high , in fact they usually are less than The Hangman and they show up as parts once in a while . I opened my Circus Wagon to take photos and the wheels & tires are the same . The tires look like a different material and they don't have the Goodyear lettering . SweeTee parts are on the left . And here's a photo of the blower & scoop .

I also just noticed the the Big Rod grill shell looks to be a cut down Deuce like shell. I never saw that before!

I also just noticed the the Big Rod grill shell looks to be a cut down Deuce like shell. I never saw that before! That's interesting , I never noticed that either . It's got the angle cut headers too ! The engine and chassis are coming together , all that yellow and chrome almost blends into one . I've done a few of these now and that front suspension can still be frustrating , especially with these old fingers .

Repainted engine and other misc parts with with a yellow that's a closer match to the plastic . Also opened the ends of the pipes !
