I like the modifications you made; and it has a good look to it. However, it appears that something is fighting the flow of the body lines concerning the hood and grille in relation to the body. perhaps the grille is sitting a hair too low dropping the front of the hood down a bit? Or, the front of the hood needs a filler piece added to fill in a slight gap........and it is still resting at a downward angle?

The bottom of it has been trimmed slightly. It's really obvious in these latest pictures. It's the same grill shell from the previous version. I had trimmed the bottom to bring the hood sides down against the frame to get rid of the usually gap when fenders are omitted. For some reason it's not working out now since I've started with a fresh frame. In the old picture below you can see everything flows nicely. Looks like I'll need to replace the shell with an un modified one. Hosted on Fotki

I think you should just move the grille shell up about a thirty second or so using a shim or something. I think that would restore the flow of the first version. I didn't see pics of the new version with engine cover sides on, maybe I didn't look far enough back?
Where did that engine front cover/motor mount and distributor come from? Was that in the same kit as the Ardun heads?
Another fantastic project!

The finned front engine piece is from the street rod version of AMT's '41 Woody.

Pretty neat work, very creative! Not sure on the finned front brake drums. They really show. What color are you thinking of for them? Aluminum or a darker metallic? Or body color? Also, am surprised the wide Ardun-headed engine fits, lucky you.
