While waiting on parts for my 40 Ford build I started on the 51,was going to use the speed parts from the 37 Chevy kit on the six but decided on the bigblock Mopar motor from the 49 Merc kit to make it a fast hotrod.

I'm working on that model as well. I'm going the copper/white color scheme like on the box. Can't wait to see yours when done. A MOPAR motor in it works. I'd really love to make Chevy guys mad and put a Ford motor in it.

I was going to put a Ford motor in it but this motor has been waiting for about 20 years to be put in something, the only extra Ford motors I have are a couple Y blocks and a couple FEs from the AMT 34 p/u that I plan on using other projects.

I think I have a left over motor out of a 99 Cobra, but I don't think I'll use it. Too many "covers" on them, and you can't really see anything. I think I've got a couple of big block Chevy motors I could build...

Oh well, a great car with wrong make engine! Just kidding, even though I'm a Chevy guy, this is a neat project as I like to see unique parts combinations on these models. Looks like that Mopar mill fits nicely under the hood.

Looks like that Mopar mill fits nicely under the hood. Unlike the firewall and inner fenders, which are a total nightmare to fit together with the body and frame... Looking good, that engine is an unusual choice but nothing wrong with that.

I have one of these too that's turning out as a Lead Sled. Thanks for the info, I guess I'll be doing a couple of mock ups before painting!

The inner fenders were a pain,if this was a sedan I would have went straight axle and removed them.
