After finishing up my last build I found myself in a bit of a slump. I decided to do a box art build because those are always good slump busters for me. I landed on the good ole AMT 40 Ford sedan kit (I like these things) as I've been wanting to build the "modified" from the original AMT Trophy Series issue for some time. After studying the art I realized I had a decal dilemma. Seems the kit decal is different that what the art shows. Well, fellow DPMCC member Robert Thurgren (constructionbob) was kind enough to step up and created custom decals for me so now I can dig into the build. Motivation back. Thank you Robert! I cracked open my last one of these as a base kit to start with..... .....and started sorting through the parts, culling out what I won't need for this build. Surprise! This ain't gonna work! I was lucky to find another fender unit in the "yard". Full steam ahead! I went through my paint locker and found this old partial can of Testor's color. I think over white or light gray primer it will be perfect for it. This is gonna be fun. Did I mention I really like these? LOL.

All the clean up done, making steady progress...ready for paint, hope to spray it tomorrow. Just might have this one done this year. Having a lot of fun with this build, keeping it simple.

Got it painted today. Went smooth, no major flaws at least none I saw on initial inspection before putting it in the dryer! Received a set of custom made decals today from Robert Thurgren(constructionbob) who generously volunteered to make them to match the box art for this build and they look great! Thank you Robert!
