This is the 1/32 Pyro kit, and it's definitely one of the better offerings. I did replace the kit's black vinyl tires with a set cast in white RTV.

Interesting. Just don't see many of these. Good job in the white tires.

I used to build the "older" models. Looks like from seeing yours I should get back to it.

I used to stay away from "basic" Pyro kits. Even their 1/24 scale ones weren't that great. This rare Mercer with what appears to be room for an engine is a worthwhile addition to any collection. Thanx for the foto. Will be happy to see pix of finished model.

Thanx for the foto. Will be happy to see pix of finished model. It does come with an engine, and a pretty nice one too. Yes, most of the Pyro kits were pretty basic, but towards the end, theiy really got their act together. Their classic kits started including engines, and chrome parts, and their Vintage Brass series, of which the Mercer was part, put a lot of larger scale kits to shame.

And speaking of the engine... And installed in the chassis.

And speaking of the engine... And installed in the chassis. That's one sharp looking model!

For 1/32 it's a fine little gem. Engine is well detailed and you did it justice. I did the 1/25 MPC Stutz with the "Wisconsin" engine and it's not a great deal better. Good show!

I added a set of reflectors to the headlamps by using the clear domes from a pair of wiggly doll eyes. Attachment DeletedThe dash was painted flat brown with some wood grain from a coloured pencil, followed by a coat of clear orange. Gold BMF covers the instruments

The acetylene tank was missing from the kit, so I scratched up a new one. I also made a new taillight that looked more like the one on the real car. I rubbed a little powdered charcoal into the tread of the tires to simulate road grime. I think I'm calling this on done.
