Here is a project I have been slowly working on. It started life as an AMT 55 Chevy pkp. I added the rear of the cab from the 60 Chevy pkp and lowered the front of the roof to give it a different look. Next added the fenders from the AMT 58 Impala to give it the 58 look. Next decided to do a custom grille for it. Then added the step side bed from the Revell 65 Chevy pkp and worked in the custom Vette taillights from the AMT 50 Chevy pkp.

Put the wood bed floor in. I glued it to a piece of clear plastic so I could clear coat it and work on it without it in the bed. Thought this could use a custom new interior, so I added seats, console and steering wheel/instr. panel from a diecast Infiniti SUV.

You are GOOD! So nice to see somebody doing a custom . . . and it's a pickup! Let us know if you have a step-by-step on it. How you fit the '58 car fenders onto it would be interesting. Thanx!

Finally getting back to the Wannabe 58. I finally got the wheel choice made and ride height set. For the power I went with the Vortec EFI motor from the 2005 Cadillac pkp. Which meant a lot of adjusting to the transmission tunnel. No big deal as the new console interior makes the mods unnoticeable.

Wannabe58 55 custom pkp is out of the paint booth and showing it's true colors. I finally decided and went with Lime Ice on this build.
