OOPS!!!

Yesterday I attempted my first two tone paint job. I used thin Timaya masking tape and for the lines between paint colors and it worked beautifully. I also used regular blue masking tape as a cover on other parts of the body and it left a nasty film all over the body. I washed it with dish soap and warm water but it made no difference. Do I have to wet sand and start again?
Thanks for any guidance and advice.
And yes, I did learn from this.

If the film left over is tape adhesive residue you can try a rubbing it with a little WD-40 or Goo Gone. Make sure the paint is fully cured and test it first in a hidden spot to make sure the paint won't rub off with it. If the paint wasn't fully cured when you applied the tape and it is an impression of the tape in the paint well yes, you would have to sand that out and possibly respray.

Okay thanks fordrodnkustom. I thought about goo gone but i was afraid of ruining the paint. I think I will wait another day or two then try it.
